Wimbledon Cocktail Party

The Club hosts a cocktail party at the AELTC&CC every year during The Championships.  It is always popular and we are very grateful for the All England Club's continued support of this event and the marvellous hospitality they provide our members.

Historically, the event always took place on the second Tuesday of the Championships, but In 2005, the event was held for the first time on a Monday and this successful experiment has been made permanent through 2006-9. Since 2008, the party has been held in the newly built Wingfield Restaurant on the first level of the Centre Court complex. In 2009, some 180 Members and guests, including many past players and dignitaries had a marvellous evening in almost tropical heat, which was rounded off for many by Andy Murray's history making match against Stanislas Wawrinka, when the match was completed late at night under floodlights and the new centre court roof.

In 2010, we recorded our best attendance for years, when some 200 guests attended on a warm summer evening. It was good to see so many players and also so many Members of the AELTC Management Committee take time from their busy schedules and support the event. Starting slightly later than usual at 7.30pm, the event provided fantastic value for those club members who took advantage of the ground access provided to the outside courts from 6.00pm onwards. 

The 2011 event will be held on Monday 27th June in the Wingfield Restaurant (first floor level of the Centre Court) from 7:30pm-9pm.
